Everything you need to get the most out of AQRHub.
Getting Started
New here? Start with these.
What is AQRHub and what can I do with it?
AQRHub is a QR code generator built for small businesses. You can create dynamic QR codes that link to websites, contact cards, WiFi networks, documents, WhatsApp chats, app downloads, and more. Every QR code you create is trackable and editable. Change where it points anytime without reprinting.
How do I create a free account?
Go to the registration page and sign up with your email. No credit card required. You get instant access to create your first QR code on the free plan.
What is the difference between free and paid plans?
The free plan gives you 1 dynamic QR code with basic scan count analytics, PNG and SVG downloads, and a small watermark. Paid plans remove the watermark, unlock more QR codes, add full analytics (device, location, browser, OS), and give you access to premium QR types like PDF, WhatsApp, and App Download. Check the pricing page for a full comparison.
What is a dynamic QR code and why does it matter?
A dynamic QR code uses a short redirect URL instead of encoding the destination directly into the pattern. This means you can change where it sends people at any time from your dashboard. You never have to reprint the code. Dynamic codes also track scan data so you can see how many people scanned, when, and where.
How do I download my QR code? What is the difference between PNG and SVG?
After creating a QR code, click the download button on your dashboard. You can choose PNG or SVG. PNG is a standard image file that works everywhere. SVG is a vector format that scales to any size without losing quality. Use SVG if you are sending the code to a print shop or putting it on large signage.
QR Code Types
Every type of QR code you can create on AQRHub.
Link
Creates a QR code that opens any URL when scanned. Use it for websites, landing pages, Google Forms, YouTube videos, or any web address. This is the most common type.
vCard
Creates a digital business card. When scanned, it opens a contact card on the person's phone with your name, phone number, email, and other details. They can save it directly to their contacts with one tap.
WiFi
Generates a QR code that connects the scanner to your WiFi network automatically. No typing the password. Great for restaurants, hotels, offices, and Airbnbs. Note: WiFi QR codes are static and cannot be edited after creation.
Opens a pre-filled email in the scanner's default mail app. You set the recipient address, subject line, and body text. Useful for feedback forms, support requests, or making it easy for customers to reach you.
SMS
Opens the scanner's messaging app with your phone number and an optional pre-filled text message. Good for opt-ins, appointment confirmations, or quick replies.
Note
Displays a plain text note when scanned. Use it for short messages, instructions, event details, or anything that does not need a URL. The text shows up directly on the scanner's screen.
PDF Starter & Pro
Upload a PDF document and share it with a scannable QR code. The person scanning sees the PDF directly in their browser. You can swap the file anytime without changing the QR code. Great for menus, manuals, forms, and spec sheets.
WhatsApp Starter & Pro
Opens a WhatsApp chat with your phone number pre-loaded. You can add an optional pre-filled message so the customer does not have to type anything. Perfect for businesses that take inquiries over WhatsApp.
App Download Starter & Pro
One QR code that detects the device and sends iPhone users to the App Store and Android users to Google Play automatically. You can also set a fallback URL for desktop users. Ideal for promoting mobile apps on printed materials.
Managing Your Dashboard
How to edit, organize, and manage your QR codes.
How do I edit a QR code after creating it?
Go to your dashboard and click on the QR code you want to edit. You can change the destination URL, update the content, swap a PDF file, or modify the design. The QR code pattern stays the same so anything you already printed keeps working.
How do I rename a QR code?
Click on the QR code from your dashboard, then edit the name field at the top. This is just for your own organization. The name does not appear on the QR code itself or affect how it works.
How do I delete a QR code?
Open the QR code from your dashboard and click the delete button. The QR code will enter a soft-delete state. It is not permanently gone right away. See the next question for details.
How do I restore a deleted QR code?
Deleted QR codes have a 7-day grace period before they are permanently removed. During that window you can restore them from your dashboard. After 7 days the deletion is permanent and the data cannot be recovered.
How do I add a logo to my QR code?
When creating or editing a QR code, you will see an option to upload a logo. The logo gets placed in the center of the QR code. QR codes have built-in error correction so they still scan fine with a logo in the middle. Supported formats include PNG and JPG.
How do I customize colors and frame?
In the QR code editor you can change the foreground color, background color, and pattern style. You can also add a QR Frame, which is a colored banner with a call-to-action like "Scan Me" above or below the code. Free plan users get preset frame text. Starter and Pro users can write custom text and pick custom colors.
Analytics
Understanding your scan data.
What analytics are available on each plan?
The free plan shows total scan counts for each QR code. The Starter plan adds full analytics including device type, browser, operating system, country, and city. The Pro plan includes everything in Starter. Check the pricing page for the full breakdown.
How do I view scan data for a specific QR code?
Go to your dashboard and click on the QR code you want to check. The analytics section shows scan data for that specific code. You can see totals and breakdowns depending on your plan.
What does "dynamic" mean for analytics?
Dynamic QR codes route scans through a redirect URL. This is what allows AQRHub to count and analyze each scan. Static QR codes (like WiFi) encode the data directly and do not go through a redirect, so scan tracking is not possible for those types.
What data is tracked when someone scans my QR code?
On paid plans, each scan records the device type (phone, tablet, desktop), browser (Chrome, Safari, etc.), operating system (iOS, Android, Windows), country, and city. No personal information about the scanner is collected. We do not track names, emails, or anything that identifies an individual.
How long is scan data kept?
Scan data is kept for as long as your account is active. There is no automatic expiration on analytics data. If you delete your account, scan data is removed after the 7-day grace period.
Account and Billing
Plans, trials, payments, and cancellations.
How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Log in to your account, go to your account settings, and click Manage Billing. From there you can switch between the Starter and Pro plans. Changes take effect immediately. If you downgrade, you keep access to your current plan until the end of your billing period.
How does the 30-day free trial work?
When you sign up for a Starter or Pro plan, you get 30 days free. You will not be charged during the trial. You can use every feature on your plan during that time. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are never charged.
What happens when my trial ends?
Your payment method is charged for the first billing cycle. Everything keeps working exactly the same. If you did not add a payment method or if the charge fails, your account moves to the free plan.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Log in, go to account settings, and click Manage Billing. You can cancel anytime. Your plan stays active until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account moves to the free plan.
What happens to my QR codes if I cancel?
Your QR codes are not deleted immediately. They enter a soft-delete grace period of 7 days. During that time you can resubscribe and recover everything. After 7 days, QR codes beyond the free plan limit are permanently removed. Any QR codes within the free plan limit stay active.
How do I update my payment method?
Go to account settings and click Manage Billing. You can update your card or payment method from there. The change applies to your next billing cycle.
Security and Privacy
How we protect your data.
How does AQRHub protect my uploaded files?
All uploaded files (logos, PDFs, images) are served through a secure proxy route. They are never directly accessible from cloud storage. Every file is validated at the byte level before being accepted to make sure it is actually the file type it claims to be. For a deep dive, read our post on the hidden security risks of free QR code generators.
What happens to my data if I delete my account?
Your data enters a 7-day soft-delete grace period. During that time you can recover your account and all your data. After 7 days, everything is permanently deleted from our systems including QR codes, uploaded files, and scan analytics.
Does AQRHub sell my data?
No. We do not sell, share, or give your data to third parties. Your QR codes, uploaded files, and analytics data belong to you. We make money from subscriptions, not from selling user data.
