How to Get More Google Reviews Using a QR Code

Most customers who have a good experience at your business never leave a review. Not because they did not want to. Because it takes too many steps to find your Google page and figure out where to click.

A QR code removes every one of those steps. Scan, tap, type. That is it.

Ways to ask for Google reviews

There are a handful of common ways businesses ask for reviews. Some work a lot better than others.

Method Effort for Customer Conversion Best For
QR code on sign or card Very low High In-person businesses
Follow-up email Low Medium Online or service businesses
Verbal ask High (they forget) Low When paired with a QR code
Printed on receipt Medium Medium Retail and food service

The QR code wins because the customer does not have to remember anything, search for anything, or type a URL. They just point their phone at it.

How to find your Google review link

You need the direct link that drops people straight into the review form. Here is how to get it.

Sign in to your Google Business Profile. On the home screen, look for the "Ask for reviews" button (sometimes labeled "Get more reviews"). Click it and Google will show a short link you can copy.

If you cannot find that button, search for your business name on Google. Click on your listing, then click "Write a review." Copy the URL from your browser bar. That URL is what you will paste into your QR code.

Test the link in a private browser window before you create the QR code. You want to make sure it opens the review form directly, not just your business listing.

Create the QR code

Go to AQRHub and create a Link QR code using that Google review URL. Download it in SVG if you are printing, or PNG if you are using it digitally.

Where to place your review QR code

The best spot is wherever people are already standing still with their phone nearby. Here are the placements that get the most scans.

Checkout counter. This is the number one spot. People are standing there waiting for their card to process. Put a small sign right next to the card reader.

Table tents or table cards. Restaurants and cafes do well with a small folded card on each table. Customers scan while they wait for the check.

Receipts. Print the QR code at the bottom of every receipt. Customers see it when they glance at the total. Works for retail, food, and service businesses.

Exit door or window. A sticker or small sign at eye level near the door catches people on their way out, right when the experience is fresh.

Packaging and bags. If you sell products, print the QR code on the bag, box, or a small insert card. Customers see it when they unpack at home.

What to say next to your QR code

A QR code by itself does not tell people what it does or why they should scan it. You need a few words next to it. Keep the message short and specific.

Good examples:

"Enjoyed your visit? Scan to leave a quick review. Takes 30 seconds."

"Love your food? Tell Google about it." (with an arrow pointing to the code)

"Your review helps us a lot. Scan here to share your experience."

Bad examples: "Please review us on Google" (too vague, no reason to act now) or a paragraph of text nobody will read.

The key is to remind them it is fast. People assume reviews take a long time. When you say "30 seconds" or "quick review," you remove that hesitation.

Why this works better than just asking

When you ask a customer verbally to leave a review, they have to remember to do it later. Most forget before they reach the parking lot. When there is a QR code right in front of them, they can do it before they walk out the door.

The combination is even better. Ask them verbally, then point to the QR code so they can act on it right away. The verbal ask creates the intent. The QR code removes the friction.

Use a dynamic QR code

If your Google Business Profile URL ever changes, a dynamic QR code lets you update the link without reprinting anything. You change the destination in your AQRHub dashboard and every printed code still works. Worth it if you have codes on signs, menus, or packaging that are hard to replace.
